Estamos perto da marca de 2 milhões de usuários que já fizeram upgrade para a Nova Experiência (NXE), e por enquanto esta tudo indo bem. Acabei de voltar da festinha de comemoração do lançamento, incluindo bolo, bebida, cafe da manha e achievement para as pessoas que trabalharam no projeto. :-)

We are very close to the 2 million users mark - people that have already updated to the New Experience (NXE) and started to enjoy the dashboard update. I just got back from the party to celebrate the launch, including cake, drinks, breakfast and a special achievement for the people that worked on the project.

Hoje a noite o update do Xbox LIVE será liberado para todos os usuários que se conectarem online. Foram meses de desenvolvimento e testes, mas valeu a pena, ficou bem legal, e as críticas da mídia até agora foram muito positivas elogiando muito a Nova Experiência do Xbox. Se tudo der certo, milhões de usuários poderão baixar a atualização e desfrutar da nova interface e recursos implementados. Amanhã estaremos monitorando os servidores, e torço pra que tudo dê certo!

Tonight the Xbox LIVE update called NXE will be released so all Xbox gamers can download it when connected to the service. It took months of development and testing, but it was worthwhile. The reviews from game magazines, newspapers, blogs, etc. have been very positive, highlighting how cool this free update will be to customers. We are hoping to see millions of gamers downloading the update tomorrow and start enjoying not only the new user interface, but also the many new features we added to the dashboard, like Parties, Netflix, Install to Hard disk and etc. We will be monitoring the servers and hoping we don't run into problems.

O GOW2 oficialmente lança somente hoje a noite, mas existem várias lojas 7-11 que já estão vendendo o jogo antes da data correta. Inclusive algumas pessoas aqui no trabalho já compraram suas cópias (foto) invés de esperar pela versão que receberemos de graça, provavelmente ainda hoje, antes do lançamento do jogo.

Infelizmente não acho que vá poder jogar GOW2 hoje à noite, já que estaremos monitorando os nossos servidores. Se tiver um tempinho, dê uma olhada no War Journal, feature que utiliza a tecnologia desenvolvida aqui no meu grupo. Eu ainda não verifiquei, mas me falaram que meu nome também está nos créditos do jogo. Se for o caso, eu tiro uma foto e coloco no blog. :-)

GOW2 officially releases only tonight, but if you are persistent you can go to some 7-11 stores and try to get your copy of the game. Many folks here at work are so anxious about the game that already bought it (picture) instead of waiting for our free copies, that hopefully will arrive today.

Unfortunately I won't be able to play the game tonight, as I will be monitoring our servers. Take a look at the "War Journal" feature, which uses the technology developed by my team. I heard that my name is also in the game credits, but I have not verified this yet. But if it is, I will upload a picture later. :-)

We celebrate Halloween here in the Xbox LIVE group using XBOX characters, of course. Take a look at some of the pumpkins we have in our buildings to see how passionate and dedicated we are. :-)

Esqueci de mencionar que será possível acessar images dos Avatars através da Web, assim sendo será possível colocá-los em web pages e etc. Para acessar qualquer avatar, basta acessar o link abaixo, trocando FLOT pelo gamertag que voce deseja:

I forgot to mention that it will be possible to access the Avatars online through web links, making it possible to embed them into your webpages and so. To access any Avatar, simply replace the word FLOT with the Gamertag you are looking for:

Como estamos chegando bem perto do lançamento do no dashboard do Xbox 360 (Nova Experiência, NXE, etc.), estava brincando com os Avatars, uma das novas funcionalidades do NXE. Bem, não acho que ficou super parecido comigo, mas ficou legal. O Avatar poderá ser utilizado em jogos no futuro, do mesmo modo que alguns jogos do WII usam os MIIs - estamos fornececendo APIs que permitirão os desenvolvedores de jogos utilizá-los em seus jogos! E você pode tirar uma foto do seu avatar (lado esquerdo) e utilizá-lo como a foto do seu Gamertag. Falta pouco agora. :-)

As we get closer to the release of the New Experience (NXE) for the dashboard of the Xbox 360, I started to have fun with the Avatars, one of the new features shipping with the NXE. Well, I don't think it looks exactly like me, but the final result is actually funny. Avatars can be used in future Xbox games - we are providing an API to game developers so they can make use of Avatars in their future games, if they want, like the WII makes use of the MIIs. You can also take a snapshot of your Avatar (like I did here in this post) and use it as your Gamer picture. We are getting very close to shipping it. Stay tuned!
